Organisation
The EMDE Investor Taskforce is an industry-led initiative, operating through three layers of governance.
The Leadership Group provides strategic direction and high-level oversight. It is convened by the Minister of State for International Development and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, with Hendrik du Toit, CEO of Ninety One, acting as the industry chair.
The Delivery Group is made up of senior representatives from the Taskforce’s participating organisations. The group is responsible for approving the Taskforce’s work programme and delivering research and publications.
Its work is organised into five technical workstreams: asset owner mobilisation, products and tools, data compilation and usage, credit ratings, as well as regulation and policy. Each workstream is co-led by industry thought leaders from major financial services firms and organisations.
The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) serves as the Secretariat to the Taskforce. It supports the Taskforce’s day-to-day operations, facilitates coordination across groups, and ensures effective implementation of the Taskforce’s objectives.
